Check what's available at your new address
Not all broadband providers cover every area, and speeds vary wildly by postcode. Before you compare deals, check coverage at your new address using the Ofcom checker or a comparison site. This tells you whether you can get full fibre, part fibre, or just standard broadband.
When should I order?
Order your broadband as soon as you have a confirmed move date. Most providers let you schedule installation for a specific day. If you leave it too late, you could be without internet for weeks — and if you work from home, that's a serious problem. You'll also want to notify your energy supplier and set up energy at your new home around the same time.

If you're still in contract, check whether your provider covers your new address. If they do, you can usually transfer your service. If they don't, most providers will let you leave without early termination fees. Check your contract terms.
What speed do I need?
For a couple streaming and browsing: 30–50 Mbps is fine. For a household with multiple devices, gaming, or working from home: look for 100 Mbps+. Full fibre (FTTP) gives the most reliable speeds if it's available in your area.
